Current Home: Squamish, BC
Years riding bikes: Starting riding seriously in 2012, but I rode the bike park a couple times a year starting in 2008. I always rode a bike growing up as a kid.
Years coaching bikes: Started coaching DFX for Whistler Bike Park(WPB) in 2012, and a year later began with Trek Dirt Series part time. Since then I’ve moved to privates at the WBP and have been coaching for Queens of Dirt out of Bellingham.
She only rides park, lol! That’s not true, she travels across North America coaching for Trek Dirt Series too. Photo Credit Bike Park Photos, Whistler BC
Queens Of Dirt weekend made better by Ronia with a mega phone! Laughing and learning is a great way to go, Erika and Ronia share a chuckle. Photo credit Bryce Barry
Favorite thing about coaching bikes: Getting people to try things that scare the crap out of them for the first time and realizing it wasn't as hard as they made it out to be.
Favorite place to ride: Anywhere in Oregon - but also the Whistler Bike Park

You got a pretty good sense of humour, does that come from you mom and dad? or all you? I think it's all me, with a little bit of my sister thrown in. We both have a great sense of humour.

You’ve done a bunch of shooting for WFMBike, and we love you work!! What inspires you the most when taking a picture: the action that is happening, the emotion, the setting? Being able to show riders what they really look like while riding. Showing the intensity in their eyes, or how big they go, or how stylish they are. Giving someone a great image of themselves, something not taken on an iPhone or point and shoot camera, is what I enjoy.

When did you get into photography? I was living in St Louis back in 2005 and was really into wake boarding. I went out and bought my first DSLR with a long zoom lens to take pictures of people boarding off the back of my boat. (Again I wanted to give someone a great image of themselves doing what the loved!)
When I moved to BC in 2006, I wanted to show everyone back home how amazing and beautiful this place was so I started shooting more landscape photography. Once I got into biking I went back to more action shots, but I still enjoy a good landscape as well.

You recently started dirt jumping and have progressed quickly in a short while, do you have a high light from your summer that you’d like to share? I went to the Little Big Festival in Truckee CA in September and jumped over an 8ft gap. I never thought I would ever muster up enough courage to hit a gap jump on my dirt jump bike.
I was there and was sooo stoked for you!! Way to progress Ronia! You definitely upped you game!! Props!!

Any goals for 2020? places you want to ride? things you want to shoot? I've spent the last few years taking photos and getting my name out there. This past year I've been able to capitalize on that by taking photos for Christchurch Adventure Park, Squamish Endure, and being the photographer for WFM Bike. I'm hoping to continue with those endeavours.

And an extra question because you are so funny!! whats your favourite joke, let’s leave everyone laughing? Ugh! It's hard to pick a favourite joke, I like funny one liners and puns are the best but here goes:
A chicken crossed the road and met James Bond. "what's your name?" the chicken asked. "Bond, James Bond. What's yours?"
"Ken, Chick Ken". !!!
